The Sahel Security Alliance is an initiative that was launched in 2020 by five West African countries (Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger) in order to combat terrorism and insecurity in the Sahel region. The alliance is supported by international partners, including the European Union, the United Nations, and the United States. It aims to improve security, governance, and development in the region through a variety of measures, including military and police operations, intelligence sharing, and economic development.
